| Snapshot Summary, June 1-7 |
Friday
1
Bristol, TN
Saturday
2
at Sycamore Shoals State Park, Elizabethton TN
which not only celebrated the native Cherokees, but all Native Americans.
Sunday
3
This was a day to get laundry done, clean the house and the like. The boys enjoyed Scribblenauts on the iPad.
Monday and Tuesday
4 and 5
We traveled past the Cherokee National Forest...
Western Theme Park
in Blowing Rock, NC.
Tuesday
5
We went to a Venus Transit party hosted by Bays Mountain Astronomy Club and ETSU Department of Physics. There were a lot of people there and lots of telescopes with special filters set up, and the astronomers took their time to answer questions. We went back a few times to check the telescopes for the progression of the transit. Such an alignment is so rare that it won't happen again until the year 2117.
Wednesday
6
Morristown, TN
A feed-animals-out-the-window-of-your-car zoo.
We didn't have lunch until very late this day (about 3:30 or 4:00) because of staying late at the park, so we had milkshakes from Sonic (after 8:00 they are half price!) for dinner this night. Milkshakes for dinner, why not? The boys were thrilled, of course.
Thursday
7
We made these goblets. I had thought they could all make them, but it turned out to take a bit more patience than the little boys had. They sketched designs on paper for theirs for me to make.
