| Snapshot Summary, March 12-17 |
With some days of warm weather this week, we did some of our regular writing and reading outdoors.
The boys also spent a great deal of time playing and riding bikes outside all week.
As far as more hands-on learning goes, we are continuing our study of the Corps of Discovery...
and made plant presses and pressed some plants from our nature walks... mostly four and five leaf clovers.
They added some sketches of plants to their journals, just as Lewis and Clark did.
They also added some pages to their notebooks.
We added Louisiana to our 50 states postcard-geography album and enjoyed a Louisiana inspired dinner to celebrate.
On Wednesday, Katie took the little boys for their first walk down to the beach this year. They had a fun time in the sand but reported (not unexpectedly) that the water was still cold.
We made our own Voltaic Pile battery.

We had some early St. Patrick's Day's fun.
Quentin made a Leprechaun out of Sculpy to be a centerpiece for the table.
We also did some Skittles math...
and explored Eratosthenes Sieve.
And for St. Patrick's Day, we had our annual treasure hunt...and a Irish-inspired dinner of corned beef, braised cabbage, hasselback potatoes, Colcannon and Soda bread.
Steven found some Celtic suncatchers for the boys to paint.
Homemade Shamrock shakes were a hit...
as was Katie's gfcf rainbow cake.
"May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, and, Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand."
