Egyptian tomb by Quentin

Celebrations
On Thursday we celebrated Alex's birthday.

Katie  made him a treasure cake, filled with an assortment of candy...

which was enjoyed by all.
22
Summer Fun
On Friday, we had campfireless Camping, playing in a wading pool, "Lake Bergenholtz"...
making S'mores Cookie Bars...
Muffuletta Sandwiches for lunch...
making Twizzlers snakes...
In addition to the S'mores bars for those that could eat them, I toasted marshmallows under the broiler for my two kids who can't have gluten or casein so that they could make s'mores with gfcf graham crackers and chocolate.
This week's Artie and Mike comic.

How in the world are we going to cross that?
We could build a boat or a bridge or a...ah...ahh!
Doink
Or that.

And for all who are thinking and praying for my husband's recovery, I have an update from Monday's doctor's appointment. He is still two weeks away from a surgery date. It seems that the blisters on his leg have to completely heal before surgery or there is too great a risk for infection. After surgery, there is a prognosis of a 3-4 month recovery before he can even put weight on his leg, so our moving day has been postponed for a few months. Meanwhile, we have been getting wonderful, loving help from our friends here in Maryland.
