Snapshot Summary October 11-16
Monday: We played with angles, measuring them and looking at the different type of triangles.
We also had fun with comparing four different types of apples for our apple nature study. We then made chalk pastel pictures of apples.
Tuesday: We had fun looking at our last Limbourg picture, mounting our pastels and making fall trees with pastels.
We studied both Robin Hood and Joan of Arc today. We read about them, watched a movie about Robin Hood, completed copy work, maps and notebook pages. We went to the library for new books and Quentin picked out a book about Columbus, not knowing that Columbus Day was this week.
Thursday: We completed some English work before the boys had to take off for a "Fall" party where they played games, ate fun foods, made crafts.
Friday: We revisited an experiment involving crosslinking polymers that we had done two years ago as making homemade Gak is so much fun. The younger boy's understanding of the concepts has grown some over the last two years as well.
