Monday, August 30

We went down to our beach and took turns flying a kite and finding treasures of stones, shells, feathers and beach glass. We made permanent sandcastles, which was a perfect ending to a the summer of sand castles.

Tuesday, August 31

For the first day, we just enjoyed our cabin, visited the gift shop at the Gettysburg Museum and picked up brochures to plan our tour.

Wednesday, September 1

We started out the day watching the presentation at the Cyclorama and touring the museum, which was an awesome experience. Katie and I had tears in our eyes as we imagined all the sacrifices that were made. We completed a driving tour of the Battlefield. When we weren't at the battlefield, we enjoyed crafts and swimming at the cabin as well as traditional roasting hot 3-D Movie at Gettysburgdogs and making s'mores.

3-D Movie at Gettysburg

Thursday, September 2
We finished up our trip to Gettysburg by going to the sites that we missed getting out and seeing the day before, such as Devil's Den. To show how large these rocks are, can you spot Quentin on the boulder in the middle? On our way home, we stopped off at a park to let the kids run around and we discovered some hungry ducks and geese. We fed them our leftover bread.
Friday, September 3
James, Sam and Steven went roller skating, (this was James' first time roller skating and he loved it!) while the rest of us had a much-needed day of rest. Whew! It has been quite a whirl-wind!
