Snapshot Summary; May 17-23, 2010 {week 34} The Past, The Present & The Future Edition

Monday: I am afraid that this week's Summary will be very different as this week we are on spring break. We worked on Quentin's birthday cake;a castle cake.
It was funny seeing several people (Katie, Quentin and myself) working together to try to make this cake with none of us having any experience or talent at it. During the weekend Katie had worked on a miniature garden pergola, using found outdoor objects, and Steven and the boys went down to the beach for awhile.Sam, of course, wanted to swim, but the water is too cold yet.
Tuesday: Quentin's birthday morningstarted off very chilly. Steven took the chill off with a fire in the fireplace. We spent the morning in the kitchen baking rolls, making butterand individual pizzas. After lunch, Quentin had his birthday party.
But now I am Six, I’m as clever as clever.
So I think I’ll be Six now for ever and ever. ~ A.A. Milne

Wednesday: We went for a trip to Rita's for treats.
Thursday: The morning was filled with household tasks, but Steven took the boys to the park in the afternoon to play with friends.Of course Quentin took his Star Warsand Viking sets as many of the boys bring their Star Wars gear there to play.

There was also quite a bit of bike riding, sand castle makingand tree climbing, just like any day playing outside should.
Friday: We went to the beach and Sam got his wish of swimming in the water. The water was cold, but that did not stop them. At least the sun was warm when they got out of the water.
Saturday: The best thing that happened was that Sam found a perfect snake skin. You can see so much detail; it is amazing. More about this during our snake nature study.
The boys enjoyed playing story-games.
The bushes in the front yard are blooming and smell wonderful.
The kids found the honeysuckle...
